Payward – 2026 Concept Trailer

I was hired to create an AI-generated concept video for Payward that would be used to pitch a visual style for a series of internal employee benefits videos that were planned for production. The objective was to establish the overall creative direction using only five AI-generated concept images and the company’s logo.

From the beginning, I was given a great deal of creative freedom. The only visual assets I received were rough AI illustrations of several droids, a robot pirate with a metal skull, the pirate performing as a DJ, and a rocket ship. It was an unconventional collection of characters, but I saw it as an opportunity to build a unique visual narrative.

My first challenge was figuring out how to connect these seemingly unrelated elements into a cohesive story. Since the client wanted an outer-space theme, I decided to use a rocket launch as the foundation of the narrative. This gave every character a purpose within the story while providing a natural beginning, middle, and end. I created scenes that showed the crew preparing for launch, the spacecraft lifting off, and the journey into space.

Because I only had 30–45 seconds to communicate the concept, I focused on visual storytelling rather than dialogue. I used short, fast-paced cinematic shots, energetic editing, and carefully timed cutaways to maintain momentum and keep the viewer engaged. My goal was to make the concept feel much larger than its runtime by giving it the pacing and energy of a movie trailer.

Once the AI-generated scenes were complete, I brought everything into Adobe Premiere Pro, where I refined the pacing, edited the sequence, color graded each shot, designed the sound effects, mixed the music, and polished the final presentation. Every creative decision—from the story structure to the final sound mix—was made to transform a handful of abstract AI concepts into a cohesive, cinematic pitch that clearly communicated the visual direction for the larger employee benefits video series.
